WHO WE ARE
We are OPUS 216. We got our official start at the Cleveland Museum of Art in 2012, when we were asked to create a mini orchestra for their first public evening event (MIX) in the newly completed Ames Atrium. Since then, we’ve performed for thousands of weddings, parties, private events, ticketed shows, Front Yard Concerts, recording and film sessions, community gatherings, and more. In addition to live performances, we have three studio albums out in the world: Along the Way (2023); The Christmas Album (2024); and Live from Suma (2025). Stream us anywhere online you find music you love.

As a poly-genre ensemble, OPUS 216 leans into more than our classical roots, from Irish fiddle to French and South American jazz, to modern covers and original music… Whether it’s a creative cover of Taylor Swift at an elegant wedding, or a recording session featuring our favorite Cleveland-based artists, we truly love to create (and reimagine) great music and do it well.
Classically-trained and unbound by genre, core players in OPUS 216 have appeared onstage with Michael Buble, Brian Wilson, and Kygo, among others. As recording artists, their strings have been featured in tracks for a myriad of artists including Lewis Capaldi, Chayla Hope, and Tropidelic. In the classical realm, OPUS 216 members sub with the Cleveland Orchestra and Chicago Symphony, and regularly appear in the Erie Philharmonic, Mansfield, Canton, and Akron Symphony Orchestras, among others.

Our musical journey has taken us as far as St Louis, Chicago, Indiana, New York state, and North Carolina, but at the end of the day, we are still hyper-local… proud to be based in Cleveland and in love with our home…
